Some notable health insurance companies for expats living in Oman include AXA, Bupa Global, Allianz Care, PassportCard, and DavidShield. Do keep in mind that while each insurer will offer comprehensive health insurance for expats, each insurer may have their share of limitations or exclusions. 

Below are the 10 notable health insurance companies available for expats living in Oman. 

AXA International Health Insurance for Expats in Oman

When it comes to available international health insurance plans, AXA features up to five tiers to choose from. These five tiers include the Foundation, Standard, Comprehensive, Prestige, and Prestige Plus plans. 

Areas covered by the foundation plan include  inpatient hospital costs and surgeries, emergency medical care, medical evacuation and repatriation, cancer treatment, ambulances, and scans such as MRI, CT, or PET.

You can also add outpatient treatment, medical examinations, vaccinations, medication, and dressings coverage.

Next is the standard plan, which covers the same areas as the foundation plan but with the addition of dental care. Moving on, we have the comprehensive plan, which covers the same areas as the standard plan with added chronic conditions and eye examinations and prescription glasses coverage. 

Both the prestige plan and its plus counterpart cover the same areas as the comprehensive plan. However, these two plans add maternity and annual health checkup coverage as well.

Bupa Global Health Insurance for Expats in Oman

Bupa Global specializes in expat health insurance as well as group health insurance and each health insurance plan will vary depending on where the expat is located. The four tiers of health insurance plans from Bupa Global include Major Medical, Select, Premier, and Elite

Allianz Care International Health Insurance for Expats in Oman

Allianz Care features three international health insurance plans catered to expats. These include the Allianz Care plan, the Allianz Care Plus plan, and the Allianz Care Pro plan. 

The Allianz Care plan covers semi-private inpatient and day-care hospital rooms, oncology, medical evacuation, home nursing, rehabilitation, as well as emergency outpatient care. 

Meanwhile, the Allianz Care Plus plan covers private inpatient and day-care hospital rooms as well as all the same areas covered by the Allianz Care plan. Additionally, this plan also covers emergency dental care. 

On the other hand, the Allianz Care Pro plan covers the same areas as the Allianz Care Plus plan but with the addition of preventative surgery and laser eye treatment coverage. Below are each of the plans’ maximum plan limits.

VUMI offers international health insurance policies for expats with available options consisting of maternity, routine and dental care, as well as optical care coverage. Dental benefits take effect after a 9-month waiting period while maternity benefits begin after a 12-month waiting period.
