Choosing The Right Plan

  • Choosing the correct medical insurance is a very serious decision as the plan that is put in place at the start may stay with you for your lifetime. Changing your plan after a period of time may mean that some conditions may be consi- dered as pre-existing and not be able to be covered. Therefore the time taken in the first instance to select the right level of cover can not only save an unne- cessary financial burden but a great deal of anxiety and stress.
  • Insurance policies can be confusing. Utilizing the services of an insurance adv- isor can prove invaluable and save hours sat in front of a computer. The advisor's responsibility is to represent the interests of thepolicy holder. With their knowledge, experience and ability to interpret policy wording, much of the stress can be avoided.
  • A medical plan purchased from a local provider may appear to save the expat money in the short term. It can also prove to be very disappointing, in the level and type of cover provided in comparison with a plan from an international medical insurance company. In the long term it is advisable to obtain as much knowledge as possible before making important decisions.

Hello. I am currently in the us military stationed in the United Kingdom,Currently my fiance who visits from the United States is currently 14 weeks pregnant with no health insurance. While here she has been able to get some health checkups from the British midwives, but it has been our concern how long it will last. Our goal is for her to have our child here in england while we are together , but the only problem is my insurance will not cover her until we are married. What options are there if any, so that i may be able to purchase coverage for her to maintain and have our child here.
