Hong Kong Article

A new study in Hong Kong has reported that people who eat foods with soy four to five times a week have a 30 percent less chance of developing chronic conditions and that eating soy beans can help lower a person's weight.

Soy contains a number of molecules that are effective in maintaining good health. These are:

Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3 acids are just one of the many special fat components in food that can benefit body functions. Omega-3 acids inhibit blood clotting; they also can help alleviate the pain associated with arthritis and prevent in-vitro inflammation.

Isoflavones

Isoflavones are, among other things, very effective antioxidants. In some cases Isoflavones are effective in lowering cholesterol and fighting cancer. For women, evidence suggests that eating foods containing Isoflavones can help promote fertility as the molecule induces increased estrogen levels.

Soy beans and food containing soy can also help reduce cholesterol. In 1995 a study in the USA showed that eating soy could lower a person's cholesterol level and promote a healthy heart. So all in all, eating soy can be healthy for you, especially if you are looking to loose some weight and have a healthier diet.
