Answer:
A Family Health International Insurance Plan, which Pacific Prime can offer, is recommended for you and your family in your move to Thailand. Pacific Prime offer International Health Insurance Plans to expat families relocating to any country of the world, Thailand included.

Pacific Prime primarily offers health insurance plans designed for expats living in a foreign country, such as yourself. We are typically able to provide a range of different coverage options and benefits, depending on what type of health insurance plan you are looking for. While our plans vary according to customer needs, our international health plans offer benefits that are particularly favorable to expats, and in many cases we are able to tailor the policy coverage to meet your specific needs.

Our Thailand health insurance plans typically provide worldwide health insurance coverage. This means expats are able to use their health insurance plan in any country of the world. Further to this, you are also able to choose where you receive treatment, with the doctor or hospital of your choice, on a global basis; this would allow you to receive treatment in Australia, for example, should you fall ill while in Thailand. Worldwide plans are particularly good for expats as they tend to travel quite frequently, such as overseas weekend breaks or short trips home to visit friends and family.

If you decide to relocate to another country, or return back to your home country, Pacific Prime offer international health insurance plans that are globally portable, allowing your insurance coverage to follow you when you relocate. This means you can continue using your health insurance plan in any country you decide to move to, even if you repatriate home.

We consult with a large number of leading international health insurance companies and have a large range of plans can be adapted to your specific needs. Family International Health Insurance Plans offered by Pacific Prime will typically give you the option of receiving coverage under a range of benefits including:

Inpatient Hospital Treatment
Dental Health Insurance
Outpatient Treatment
Maternity Health Insurance
Emergency Evacuation & Repatriation
Geographic Coverage
Deductibles

Pacific Prime can offer additional coverage options to suit the specific needs of your family, such as comprehensive outpatient treatment. This will provide your family coverage of healthcare services you are more likely to use. An outpatient plan will typically include any of the following:

Routine health checks
Medical practitioner and specialist fees
Vaccinations
Prescription medicines
Alternative treatments
Diagnostic tests, including X-rays
Home nursing

Individuals and families residing in any foreign country are highly recommended to take out private health insurance, particularly when visiting a country that has lower standards of medical care and limited access to facilities.

Expats living in Thailand generally use private health care facilities due to the superior standard of care available over Public healthcare facilities in Thailand, and the fact that Thai private healthcare is considered on par with western standard facilities. While private health care is readily available in Bangkok and Phuket, adequate medical facilities are limited outside these areas and are virtually non existent in remote rural and island locations. In the event of a serious illness or accident, emergency evacuation or repatriation will be required in order to receive the appropriate level or medical care.

The costs involved in covering emergency evacuation, as well as private hospital fees, is highly expensive. Such as, an international medical insurance plan is strongly recommended for expats living in Thailand that includes coverage for emergency evacuation and repatriation services.
