Policy holders should call the Bupa helpline to find out whether the treatment is included on the plan benefits.

Bupa UK opening hours 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 6pm on Saturday (except public holidays).

To make the claims process easier, you can ask your general practitioner to refer you to a Bupa recognized specialist or health care provider.

Bupa UK claims are made by:

• Pre-authorisation
• Pay and claim
• Bupa Cash Plans

Pre-authorisation

• After treatment is pre-authorised, the medical bill is directly settled between the hospital and Bupa.
• Find out which treatment should be pre-authorised.

Pay and claim

• Some outpatient services may require the policy holder to pay for their treatment and claim.

Bupa Cash Plans:

• Bupa offer cash plans including Bupa Health Cash Back and Bupa Patient Cash.
• The claims process is made easy with no pre-authorisation required – after treatment a claim form is submitted and payment is received (up to the maximum limits selected).
• Bash plans allow you to claim up to 100 percent cash back for everyday treatment and hospital expenses.
• There is no need for pre-authorisation.
• There are two Bupa Cash Plans:
    - Bupa Health Cash Back (Everyday treatment eg. dental, optical)
    - Bupa Patient Cash (Inpatient treatment)
• How to claim:
  1. Receive treatment at hospital or medical facility
  2. Bring completed claim form to hospital or medical facility
  3. Hospital or medical facility stamps the claim form and confirms duration of stay and reason for treatment
  4. Claim form is submitted to Bupa
  5. Bupa pays for treatment by cheque or to bank account (up to your maximum benefit limits).
