A Travel Health Insurance plan, which we highly recommend and can provide, is purchased by individuals who are seeking comprehensive international medical coverage on a short term basis. A Travel Health Insurance plan typically covers medical expenses relating to an accident or illness, for a duration specified by the policy holder, of up to 12 months.
Health insurance policies typically place a waiting period on maternity health coverage, however a travel health insurance plan can provide different limitations. On an Individual Health Insurance plan, you are typically unable to receive any medical expenses relating to your pregnancy until the waiting period is complete. This waiting period is generally 10 to 12 months. However in some cases, a Travel Health Insurance plan will provide you with immediate medical coverage, including medical assistance relating to emergency maternity treatment.
