Expats will often find it difficult to navigate the healthcare system in a foreign country. The Allianz Helpline can assist members with emergency assistance, locating a doctor or health care facility, or organizing medical evacuation if required. Allianz Worldwide members can also phone the MediLine service to receive health advice from qualified health care professionals.

    ‘Clear to Zero’ 48 hour claims processing

    In 2006, Allianz introduced 'Clear to Zero', a 48 hour turn around claims service. The goal will promise to notify customers and pay claims within this time frame. Allianz exceeded this goal, in which 90 percent of claims were processed within 24 hours. The remaining 10 percent were processed within 48 hours.

    Clear to Zero is supported by an automatic email notification system. Allianz customers are provided with updates at every stage of the claims process.

    For corporate clients: Large corporate clients are now able to submit their claims via email, scan or fax, improving the claims process even further.



    Helpline Service

    Allianz Worldwide Care Helpline service provides members with access to claims assistance and other member services including:

    • Pre-authorise treatments
    • Pre-authorise emergency treatments
    • Provide details of your policy benefits
    • Confirm if your treatment is covered under your claim
    • Receive updates on your claim
    • Other claims related services

    Emergency Assistance

    An Emergency Assistance phone line is available to Allianz Worldwide members. Consultants are medically trained, providing a professional emergency assistance service.

    In the case of an emergency, the Emergency Assistance phone line will offer medical advice and first aid assistance if required. Emergency Assistance can find a doctor or hospital in your area, organise emergency medical evacuation, and repatriation, anywhere in the world you may be.

    Pre-authorisation of hospital treatment is not required in the event of an accident or medical emergency. Members can contact the Helpline after receiving emergency treatment, within 48 hours following the incident to organise pre-authorisation. Using the 24 hour Helpline, members can receive pre-authorisation and organise direct settlement of the hospital bills, ensuring ease of access to medical entitlements on your plan.



    MediLine Medical Advice Service

    MediLine offers health advice to Allianz Worldwide members. Expatriates living overseas may find it difficult to navigate the health system. MediLine is a great resource to receive immediate advice on various health issues that may be a concern to those living overseas. The team is highly experienced and medically trained in a wide spectrum of health fields including paediatrics, travel health and infertility*.

    *The MediLine Service should be treated as an additional health service, not a replacement for professional medical advice from a treating doctor or specialist.

    Allianz Worldwide have created an online support service for its members to view their health insurance policy, manage their claim and locate doctors, specialists and health care facilities in their local region.
