Cost of International Health Insurance Report - 2018

Welcome to the 2018 version of Pacific Prime’s Cost of International Health Insurance report. This year, we have found that across all locations, insurers, and demographics the average cost of health insurance ranges from USD 6,201 to USD 23,120. Shocking to no one, the US is again the single most expensive location for IPMI plans, while Angola had the lowest average premiums in 2018.

Breaking the data down by demographic, we have found that average premiums, as was the case in previous years, vary immensely:

  • Plans for individuals span from an average of USD 3,150 in Tanzania to USD 11,942 in the US.
  • Plans for families span from an average of USD 9,250 in Angola to USD 34,298 in the US.

The Analysis section of our report provides an in-depth look at the major findings mentioned above. You can also find a comprehensive breakdown of each country's average cost of health insurance (overall and by demographic) in our full report's Appendixes section.
