The average cost of international medical insurance coverage for individuals in the Middle East covers a spread of USD 5,146 in Israel to USD 3,634 in Azerbaijan. Comparing the average premiums with the global ranking for individual plans we find that the countries in the Middle East are ranked from between 5th and 64th.
While Israel does have the highest average premiums for individuals in the region, it is Dubai that is the most interesting in terms of international medical insurance. The reason why has to do with the introduction of mandatory health insurance in Dubai that not only must meet specific coverage requirements - all plans must cover pre-existing conditions and maternity - but also requires that all residents secure health insurance.
