Cost of International Health Insurance – 2017

Average cost of international health insurance in the Middle East

Taking into account all of the plans available for each of the four demographics included in this report, we can report that the average cost of international health insurance in the Middle East is spread out from USD 9,989 in Israel to 7,248 in Azerbaijan.

When compared with the global ranking, plans in the Middle East are ranked from between 5th (Israel) and 69th (Azerbaijan), while plans are more costly overall in Israel (we have explained why in Article 1 of our Cost of International Health Insurance - 2015 report).

While Israel has the highest average cost of health insurance in the region, one of the standouts and one many countries are keeping their eyes on is Dubai. Since the full adoption of mandatory health insurance in 2016 many have wondered what the future of health insurance in the city will look like. As we have noted before, we strongly believe that the Emirate is one of the most important cities in terms of health insurance and the lessons learnt here will certainly be considered heavily when it comes to the future of medical insurance.
