A massive congratulations to Folorunso Julius Falana, an Undergraduate Nursing student at the University of Kyrenia in the Republic of Cyprus, who received the scholarship prize of a USD $1,000 bursary for his education costs.<\/p>\n<p>Folorunso entered our scholarship by submitting his impressive essay on the topic of \u201cThe importance of good mental health in academia,\u201d which covered many interesting aspects. This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pacificprime.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pacific Prime<\/a> article goes over his essay and reflects on our driven desire to support young generations in achieving their goals and bettering their health and well-being.<\/p>\n<div class='code-block code-block-1' style='margin: 8px 0; clear: both;'>\n<p><button class=\"mo-modal-open\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4633\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pacificprime.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/WP-Banner-revamp-final-20221207_1.-Single-final.jpg\" alt=\"Individual health insurance banner\" width=\"1138\" height=\"493\" \/><\/button><\/p><\/div>\n\n<h2><strong>The importance of good mental health in academia by Folorunso Julius Falana<\/strong><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFolorunso\u2019s submission was nothing short of impressive.\u201d &#8211; Stephen Ho, Marketing Director at Pacific Prime<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Folorunso\u2019s winning essay began with his main point, mentioning that \u201cmental health issues can come in many forms, especially for people who school, work, or live in stressful environments. It can affect people at all levels in life, from literate to illiterate, and that is why people are encouraged to educate themselves on how to maintain a positive mental practice and build an encouraging support system.\u201d He also confirmed that \u201cmental health is also a big issue in the academic sector,\u201d before making metaphorical comparisons and stating the consequences to good <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mentalhealth.gov\/basics\/what-is-mental-health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mental health<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, Folorunso\u2019s essay offered a broad perspective on mental health issues, especially in his native country, where studies of his educational system found several issues that affect fellow students, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prolonged strikes and breaks in the academic calendar.<\/li>\n<li>A hostile learning environment caused by incessant cultism clashes.<\/li>\n<li>Unhealthy interpersonal relationships between teachers and students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The essay made clear references to real-world case studies and referenced authoritative sources, which made his writing compelling.
