Ever wondered what Louisa May Alcott saw when writing Little House on the Prairie? The softness of the prairie contrasted by the harshness of winter, all within the realms of a quiet past world. Or wanted to explore the rolling hills and and welcoming forests where Christopher Robin frolicked and played with Winnie and Piglet? Imaginary or real, it is a uniquely human experience to tell stories. Books have led imaginations to all ends of the earth, the ability to physically experience where the magic began is a lifelong dream of serious literature enthusiasts.

Children’s books are extraordinarily special, as they have the power to create a magical place in the world and create whimsical memories. For generations, parents have told children timeless tales and read books to their young, that the parents themselves were once read. Even in the digital age, we have yet to lose the ideal of reading to our children. Books have a way of evoking memories and creating a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

Cheap Flights, a UK company, partnered with Neoman studios to create a wonderful infograph highlighting the places where one could go to discover the worlds from your favourite childhood pastimes. With this simple infograph, all one needs to do is pick from one of your favorite childhood books and book your flight! CheapFlights and Neoman have created a wonderfully simple insight into traveling. Kudos!

Some unmentioned children’s favorites are listed here:

1) Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

Anywhere wild enough in the jungle. The Philippines is a wonderful answer for those who live in Asia.

2) Charlotte’s Web by EB White

Most farms will do. Befriending a small pig or a baby pig is ideal, as larger pigs can be quite aggressive.

3) Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls

This story about a boy and his dogs is based in the Ozarks. Starting off in Little Rock, Arkansas and then heading out to no man’s land in the Ozarks.

4) The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.

This wonderful story about a tree with a golden heart, is a wonderful metaphor that only requires one element for any literal translation into a trip. Just find a tree and tell the story!

Some mentioned children’s tales are:

1) The Lake District which is mostly comprised of Cumberland, Westmorland and Lancashire, counties in Northwest England.

The tales of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter were written here. This is also the known land of William Wordsworth, for satisfying the poet inside.

2) Belfast, Ireland. Although recommended by the Cheap Flights/Neoman team as the place for visiting the real-life Narnia. The rolling hills outside Belfast, where Lewis himself played as a child are just as inspiring.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis.

3) North Yorkshire, England. The Allerton Castle in North Yorkshire was used for the movie, The Secret Garden in 1993, using it as a backdrop in many shots.

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
