Expat Medical Insurance plans typically provide high limits of cover. The limits generally range between USD $1 million and USD $2 million per year. The limits of cover can be defined as either per year, per condition or a lifetime limit.
An annual limit provides cover on a yearly basis up to the total limit regardless of the treatment you are claiming for. A benefit/condition limit will provide cover up to a specified amount per condition or benefit on a yearly basis. A lifetime limit will provide cover for a particular benefit up to a specified limit during your lifetime.
