Selecting the right Emergency Evacuation Plan is very important as many countries have limited medical facilities and in the event whereby major surgery or intensive medical treatment is needed an Emergency Evacuation Plan will be greatly appreciated by the insured. Medical plans will usually evacuate to a near “acceptable” hospital or, in some cases, to the client's home country.

Medical evacuation will only be covered by an Insurance Company when it is specifically requested by the treating doctor and agreed by the insurer's medical consultants. It is not possible for the patient to simply demand to be evacuated; the decision to evacuate has to be based on medical necessity.

When considering Emergency Evacuation cover it is important to be aware of the facilities available in the country or countries to be visited. The cost of ambulances, helicopters, flights and in-transit medical care can be crippling if not covered by an appropriate plan.

We would always advise an Expat to take an Emergency Evacuation Plan unless they are based full time in developed countries when this cover would not be quite so necessary.

Hello. I am currently in the us military stationed in the United Kingdom, Currently my fiance who visits from the United States is currently 14 weeks pregnant with no health insurance. While here she has been able to get some health checkups from the British midwives, but it has been our concern how long it will last. Our goal is for her to have our child here in england while we are together , but the only problem is my insurance will not cover her until we are married. What options are there if any, so that i may be able to purchase coverage for her to maintain and have our child here.

I am an Indian living in Indonesia. I would like to have a medical health insuarnce for me and my wife. I travel to USA and Canada quite often. We do not have any health insurance of our own except for the group insurance from my company applicable to me only.
