It is important to note that many international health insurance plans will not typically cover pre-existing conditions. A pre-existing medical condition is deemed to be any medical condition which has displayed symptoms, required treatment, or which the policyholder has been aware, prior to the purchase of an international health insurance plan. Common pre-existing conditions can include such illnesses as Diabetes and Asthma. If the policyholder has a pre-existing condition, a global health insurance plan will typically handle the condition in one of four ways: Exclusion, Moratorium, Coverage with Loading, or Medical History Disregarded.
