BUPA Arabia, established in 1997, was formed as a partnership between the British United Provident Association and The Nazer Group. The venture was originally named BUPA Middle East, but was renamed BUPA Arabia shortly after the company launched an initial public offering (IPO) in 2007 in a move away from a Joint Venture towards a publicly listed company, as required by KSA insurance regulations.
