In 1961, the company was renamed Private Patient Plan (PPP) which was later changed to AXA PPP in 1999 when it was incorporated into the AXA Group. Due to international expansion, in 2009 AXA PPP International was created. Today, AXA PPP has reached membership numbers of over 2 million people.
