Question: Individual health insurance which is available from Pacific Prime will typically be guaranteed renewable for life. This is in addition to the bulk of our plans being internationally portable, and able to provide worldwide cover. This means that should you ever relocate away from your current location, you plan will travel with you, giving you uninterrupted protection no matter where in the world you may go. Payment of international health insurance premiums can be made in a number of different ways. We offer flexible payment options, giving you the choice of payment frequency, the way you pay, and even the currency which you use to purchase the plan. Plans can be purchased via Bank Transfer, Credit Card, or Cheque, and can be paid for in most major currencies; including USD, GBP, EUR, and RMB. If you would like to spread the cost of your policy over the course of a year, we can arrange for your premiums to be paid on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis. In some instances insurers may impose a premium surcharge of between 4 - 5 percent if you choose to spread you premium payments over the year, but it may be possible for us to lower this surcharge in specific cases. When purchasing an international medical insurance plan you will normally be given 3 weeks after the start of the policy to complete your first payment. This means that you are able to start coverage immediately and are able to take the time to arrange your finances in the appropriate fashion. As with premium surcharges, it may be possible for Pacific Prime to extend this time period, but this is often only done on a case-by-case basis. Premiums will be calculated based on the policyholder’s age, and the plan’s geographical area of coverage. The plans which we work with will not calculate premiums based on your claims or medical history. This ensures that you are able to receive the medical treatment which you require, confident that any claims you may make under the plan will not impact your premium.
